To honor the newly-minted National Artists for Film and Broadcast Arts, the Cultural Center of the Philippines officially launches CCP CINE ICONS, a year-round film program featuring the outstanding cinematic masterpieces of Marilou Diaz-Abaya, Ricardo “Ricky” Lee, and Nora Villamayor, better known as Nora Aunor.
As springboard, the CCP Film, Broadcast, and New Media, in partnership with ABS-CBN Film Restoration , will hold a screening of Ishmael Bernal’s classic, “Himala,” written by Ricky Lee, starring Nora Aunor, followed by a talkback, on March 17 at the Tanghalang Ignacio Gimenez (TIG) Blackbox Theater, with a spillover outdoor screening at the parking lot.
